Paths

Samos is the 8th largest Greek island and impresses for its rich nature, which is a brilliant field for various activities, such as hiking, climbing, crossing canyons, exploring caves. The island has the largest organized hiking trails in Greece, with more than 240 kilometers and 19 unique routes to explore, and is an emerging destination for fans of the genre.

Samos has a lot of green and even more hills, and for adventure lovers this means one thing: hiking. If we had to choose just one route, it would definitely be the one that starts from the village of Potami and ends at two beaches, Mikro and Megalo Seitani. The degree of difficulty is low, but the setting is almost cinematic. You will cross for an hour and a half a forest of plane trees until you face the beaches and you will see that the trees reach all the way to the sea! You will first reach a pebbled cove and a little later the second, larger, sandy beach.

Also, one of the most popular paths is the one that leads - through a deeply shaded path - to the "Potami" waterfalls near Karlovasi. However, to reach the picturesque waterfalls you will have to swim through two cool pedestals, in a unique natural environment.

Caves

Impressive are the caves, richly decorated, as well as the ancient quarries, where the marbles of the temple of Hera came from. They are scattered on the island and unused. The active Speleological Association "O Eupalinos" will guide you if you want to discover this unknown and mysterious aspect of the island.

Combine unique beaches and incredible water sports

Our last tip concerns water sports enthusiasts. Kokkari, located on the north side of the island, is particularly suitable for windsurfing. (https://samoswindsurfing.gr/el/)
Also, Mykali beach, 8 kilometers south of Vathi, will impress you whether you are a professional surfer or not, while at the same time it is suitable for kitesurfing. If you still like calmer activities, you can rent SUP boards here. Alternatively, head to the south of the island to dive with a wetsuit and oxygen bottles or just a mask and snorkel.

Also, there is the possibility for water sports lovers to go scuba diving.

Take the boat to Samiopoula

Certainly, some of the places you will visit in Samos touch perfection, but if you want to see an uninhabited and unadulterated landscape, then you must go to Samiopoula, the isolated islet opposite the southern coastline of Samos. Organized tours depart from Pythagoreio to land you on the verdant, almost flat island with the turquoise waters and the central Psalida beach with its white sand, perfect for sunbathing. Some boats also have snorkeling equipment, but if you have your own, definitely take it with you.

Embrace the serenity of Villa Chariclea, where every moment is a whisper to the soul, bringing you closer to the senses than ever before.
